Who We Are

Kanoon Mehr operates as a Telegram bot, @KanoonCharityBot. All donation activity — browsing projects, giving, and managing subscriptions — happens inside Telegram. This policy explains what we collect through the bot, and through this website, and why.

Information We Collect

• When you start the bot, we store your Telegram user ID, the name and/or username Telegram provides for your account, and your chosen language (Farsi or English).
• We record your donation history: the amount given, which project it went to, when it happened, and the status of any monthly subscription you hold.
• When you pay, our payment processor Stripe creates a customer record for you and we store its Stripe customer ID so we can look up and manage your subscriptions. We do not store your card details — see "Payments & Stripe" below.
• Like most online services, our servers keep operational logs used to run and debug the bot.

How We Use Your Information

We use this information only to operate the donation service: to process your gifts, deliver funds to the projects and partner organisations you supported, keep you informed of progress, and let you manage your own subscriptions. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with third parties beyond Stripe (our payment processor) and the trusted partner organisations who deliver the projects you support.

Payments & Stripe

All payments are processed by Stripe, an independent payment processor. Your card details are entered directly with Stripe and never reach Kanoon Mehr's servers — we never see or store them. Stripe's own use of your data is governed by its privacy policy, available at stripe.com/privacy.

Anonymity of Contributions

Contribution amounts are kept anonymous on the platform — other users cannot see who gave what, or how much.

Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active, and afterwards for as long as needed to meet our financial record-keeping obligations. The exact retention period is [TO BE CONFIRMED].

Your Rights (UK GDPR)

We process your information on the basis of the contract we perform when you make or manage a donation, and our legitimate interest in operating and improving the service. Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask what information we hold about you and to request that it be deleted. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or third-party trackers. Our typeface is self-hosted, so no font requests leave your browser for a third-party service either.
