Terms & Conditions
The charter that governs how Kanoon Mehr runs projects, reports on them, and handles donated funds.
Last updated: 2 September 2026
Kanoon Mehr Charter
Kanoon Mehr was established to support compatriots in need and to create a transparent, accessible platform for you — our valued members — to participate in humanitarian causes. Despite the distance from home, we are here together with you to help ease the hardships faced by those in need in our homeland. We carry out this work in collaboration with our partner organisations.
1. How Projects Work
- Each case of need is introduced on the platform as a project.
- Some projects remain active until the target amount is reached, while others have a specific deadline. Once a project is completed or its deadline is reached, it is closed and the funds are sent to the intended group. Collected amounts on the platform are kept anonymous.
2. Reporting
- We endeavour to obtain progress reports from our partner organisations whenever possible, and share them in the channel as "Project Progress/Completion Reports."
3. Reallocation of Funds in Special Circumstances
- It is possible that a project's need may be resolved before funds are transferred, or that the executive team may determine a change in how collected funds are used. In such cases, every effort will be made to redirect contributions to similar projects.
- Additionally, if a project does not reach its target and the amount collected is insufficient to meaningfully address the need, the funds will be allocated to another project based on priority.
4. Currency Conversion & Fund Transfers
- Due to fluctuating exchange rates, discrepancies may occasionally arise during currency conversion before funds are sent. Any shortfall may be covered from general Sadaqah (unallocated charitable funds), and any surplus will be allocated to other projects.
5. Sadaqah
- Funds collected under the Sadaqah category are directed to projects in need of funding.
6. Operational Costs
- No administrative or operational costs of Kanoon Mehr are deducted from donated funds. The only deduction relates to Stripe payment gateway fees, which our technical team continually works to minimise.
We are grateful to have you with us.
Payments, Service & Updates to These Terms
This section is not part of the charter above; it sets out a few practical points about how the charter is put into practice on this website and through our Telegram bot.
- All donations — one-time and monthly — are processed by Stripe and are collected in British Pounds (GBP).
- The donation service itself is delivered through our Telegram bot, @KanoonCharityBot, where you browse projects, give, and manage any subscription.
- These terms may be updated from time to time. The current version is always the one published on this page, and it applies from the date shown above.
- Questions about these terms can be sent to us via our contact page.
